The Light is about persevering and finding your way out of uncertain circumstances, through the light and purpose inside of you can make it past their struggles. Life is fickle and as people we often find ourselves under circumstances that test our spirit and will. The Light is that experience within that gives someone the ability to rise above personal obstacles and gives them strength to overcome their obstacles, a pivotal display of will and strength we've seen from many people in history. The song is an anthem for those people in the pursuit of their pivotal moment and is a proclamation that if anyone moves towards their goal they will get past their struggles and rise above and this is all achieved by finding the light.

The next installment of the Beat Lounge Beat Battle is Saturday, February 18th at the Greenwich (2442 Gilbert Avenue in Cincinnati). If you haven't been to this battle, it's one of the premiere producer battles in the tri-state area. It’s been 3 years since I did a Valentine’s mix but I felt compelled to do something this year because the ideas were coming. When the ideas come, I stop everything I do and get cracking and man, I’m so happy I did. I love this mix and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have been. It’s kinda cool to enjoy your own mixtape days before maybe thousands of people would. I got to warn the fans though – if you need that hardcore hip-hop in your life, go get my other mixtapes. This is for people who aren’t shy about how much they love Miguel, Janet and even H-Town. In case that’s not your thing, I’d still suggest you take a listen because it’s still really creative, musical DJing with a lot of thought and tricks.
